beginning of a year long adventure!

Arriving at Narita airport, we were greeted with many JET program helpers who were all lined up from the arrival hall to the buses we were supposed to take to Tokyo. Having stayed up the whole night before and only managed less than 3 hours of sleep on the flight, i was simply nodding and smiling to no one in particular when i made my way to the bus.

The amount of logistics that went into the program was simply unbelievable. Everything was done to ensure swift clearance. Arrival and checking in to the hotel was a breezy affair and before long me and 2 other Singaporean girls hit the crowded streets of Shinjuku in search for a place for our first night dinner. It was a queer kind of feeling to be back in Tokyo. Somehow, things felt familiar and yet very foreign at the same time. Well, first timer or not, who can resist snapping pictures of the city's night scenes?

This is the little shop which we had dinner on the first night. It specializes in maguro don and the tuna was surprisingly very fresh. After the meal, we wondered around Shinjuku a little bit more before heading back to the hotel for an early night rest.
