saying bye-bye
It was 3am in the morning and i felt bad that everyone had to get up at such an unearthly hour just to send me off at the airport and i'm not even gonna be away that long =P Kaiyang and Yanshuin were really sweet, they stayed over at our place and drove all of us to Changi.I remembered feeling a little sad on my way to the airport but mostly i was feeling somewhat apprehensive and a little excited. It's hard to believe that after months of preparation, from the application which began last July for me and all the waiting, the day has finally arrived.
What followed after we reached the airport i couldn't really recall clearly now.
It was like this flurry of activities. Me waiting in line at the Northwest counter for check-in and feeling really nervous about my 5kg overweight luggage. I was in luck and went to this counter with a really easy going lady who let me passed without saying much. I heard that one or two other Singaporeans in the group weren't as lucky though, they got to repack on the spot and someone even paid the extra $33/kg, ouch!
After all the necessary logistics were out of the way, i went round chatting and saying byes to friends who had stayed up till late and came all the way to airport to send me off. I was very touched when a good friend called to say she was on her way with her husband and very surprised to see Elaine and Jeff too! They never told me they were coming but i was glad they did :) And then there were Ros who said she won't be coming but she came, not alone but with a few other colleagues from Citi! =)
Of course there were the bijins. Poor gals i think they must have suffered from severe fatigue over that weekend. They were at a friend's father's wake the night before and were already at the airport at 3 plus in the morning. I knew Daniel was sick and was i horrified to see him among the group too. They are really a sweet bunch and i know i am gonna miss them and all the gatherings so much.
Soon the part i hated most was here.Well, for one i didn't cry as badly as i had expected to.And Alvin was so composed that it makes everything much easier. Seeing dad, mom and my sibs' faces and saying bye was perhaps the toughest bit.Afterall, this is the first time i am leaving home.
In the midst of all the action, i had cleanly forgotten about taking pictures.
This is the only picture i had at the airport thanks to Charmaine chan who uploaded and sent the pictures to everyone.

The bijins, Daniel and their boyfriends and husband.
I know i've said it many times but still wanna say a BIG thank you to everyone for making me feel so loved and extra special for the last few weeks!
